two nights. one considered bag.

Use this as a starting point for a two-night trip. Adjust for your plans, weather, personal needs and access to laundry.

Begin with the days, then the items.

Write down what each day involves: travel, a walk, a dinner, a work meeting or time outdoors. Choose clothing around those activities and repeat an item where it makes sense. Lay everything out before filling the bag.

A useful constraint: use the bag you plan to carry as your boundary. Keep an empty area beside it for optional items until the essentials fit.

Pack in three passes

  1. Group by when you use it

Keep clothing, bathroom items and small travel essentials in separate groups. Use an organizer only where it makes a group easier to handle.

  2. Check the closures

Fill each organizer without forcing its zipper or straining its seams. Then close the outer bag with the complete load inside.

  3. Rehearse the first reach

Can you get to your documents or charger without unpacking everything? Move those items to an accessible place before adding optional extras.
